What do you mean white's have stolen hip-hop!

Listen to every single one of the top hip-hop, rap songs and they're always STEALING music from a "white" artist, which they then butcher up by changing the tempo and play-speed of the music and then add rap to it! Total Bullshit!

As for the issue with suburban white-kids listening to this hip-hop crap, you blacks should thank your lucky stars because if the white kids (who've got the money) weren't buying it, none of this crap would be in the marketplace!

As an educated white male, do you think I'm proud of the fact that young white kids are dressing themselves up to look like "wiggers" and then talking in "ebonics"? It makes me want to puke!!!!!

Face it! Racism is here to stay! The ONLY way to get rid of it is if the government were to come up with a law that would enforce inter-racial relationships. By enforcing inter-racial relationships, the Government would ensure that eventually a "MUTT" or mixed-race would come out of it where no one would be either white or black, but rather, carmel in colour.

Although I could never see something as drastic as this happening, don't be surprised if one day the Ministry of Education will try to come up with a crazy idea wherby the local predominantly white high-school out in the suburb will be forced to go to a "shit-hole" high school in the inner-city (Malvern) which is predominantly black and hold their school dances together. That way they can ensure that both "ethnicities" can co-mingle with each other resulting in some "Jungle Fever" relationships. That is if the white kids can manage to dodge all the bullets coming and going from the dance. This could work going the other way to where the inner-city high schools would travel out to the sticks for dances.

There is way too much polarizing going on in here... let me air it out. First of all, White people and Israeli's are responsible for co-opting the music industry that distributes hip hop music, not the culture that supports the artform. As for the multi-million dollar industry being made be whites, I beg to differ. It is only through years of slavery and colonialism that made it possible for white people to amass such wealth so technically that money belongs to others anyway, if you deal with justice that is.

Throwing around terms like Toms is counterproductive. We are in a new era and using the nomenclature of that time sets us back. Getting $ is not an issue. In fact, it is potentially the salvation of the culture and our people in the Diaspora. Let me expalin. Getting paid is not the main issue but how the money is being spent or invested. I am not a in favor of a great deal of what is being peddled as hip hop nowadays but blaming any one racial group for the current climate is unwise. There are too many factors, however this does not mean that White people are off the hook. Just because some Europeans are coming up in the game does not mean that they can claim the culture's origins as their own. I respect skills but hip hop is a legacy not a fad.

As for those Blacks that are cashing in on the gimmick-hop, they have adopted the priorities of white people, and only the bad ones at that. If an artist would invest in the community like the Jews do or take care of others like Whites do, we would actually be progressing. Even if the money came form some watered down bs, the actions would speak louder still and eventually the example set by said artist would make others follow suit. So, why isn't this happening? I think it is because we still havn't created a sufficient demand for good music. Know, when I saw we I am talking about the masses and not the few because as far as I am concerened if you like any form of hip hop you are tapped into the WHOLE idea, good and bad.

I agree with the origianl sentiment of this thread yet feel that it is incomplete. There are too many sides to argue to place the blame solely on Whites, but yes- they are the primary cause of the current situation of our music, neighborhoods and schools. Knowing this you should also know another thing- they are the cause but never the solution. Thus, we need to put our energies forth and create and protect our culture in the future because these crab ass mo-fos have already invaded our old shell. Innovation and supplying the alternative AND GETTING PAID FOR IT- that is the goal.

So, would yall start hating dpz and other like them if they started making Kanye $ without changing their views? I feel that we need to define the real issue and that is not getting dough but getting dough for the wrong reasons and notdoing anything to change the way the industry operates.

Commercial hip hop has always been bullshit. "Baby Got Back", "Funky Cold Medina"- all those songs from back in the day taking the top 40 are just historical versions of the pop hop we got going on today- and just like back then enough of the dudes that used to be real artist just chase dollars. If anything is fucking up hip hop its the dollars. Dudes rap about dollars more than they rap about reality.

That's straight bullshit. I'M not personally offended but I'm sure Big Mo, Lil Troy and Mystikal would be. The South is full of flow creativity- enough of these southern soldiers are keeping hip hop fresh and alive, it's all dollars that are fucking up the game.

nah man - the only way to get rid of racism is to get rid of the whole 'race' concept, (I put 'race' in quotations because it does not exist...it is a social construct created by man to separate people, to put people above one another) which also means creating new words in our language that undermines dividing people by 'race'. Racism created 'race', not the other way around. But can this EVER be done??? I've heard people argue that this will occur naturally, because of the 'survival of the fittest'...but I disagree. Humans are given the ability to reason. Look at the Micmaws, they operated as a close knit unit of respect for the earth and others, and sharing..not trying to be above another person... it is all in the mind set and the way WE throughout History have created these systems and conventions. just my thoughts tho...

White people killing hip hop is the dumbest thng I ever heard. Most of this propaganda is spread by historical inaccuracies. Eighty percent of hip hop music is sold to white suburban kids. The hip hop culture poisons society with its references to guns drugs and hookers. Hip hop is a poison, and the reason the stars make all the money, is because of white kids buying it. As for the rock and roll and blues reference, that statement is wrong as well. At least as far as I know, the guitar, drums and bass was not invented by black people. Saying that white people steal any kind of music is as stupid as saying black people stole boxing, basketball, and looking cool. It is also like saying Obama is stealing the presidency from the white people of america because it is traditionally held by whites.
